Boys between ages 8 and 17 who want to be part of a non-denominationational Boy Scouts of America program. We are organizing a Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop composed of boys who really want to be Cubs or Scouts that adheres completely to the national program of the Boy Scouts of America.
This Pack and Troop will operate in the spirit of the program that has served the U.S. since 1910!
We have a company that is willing to be our chartering organization, but we need adult leaders and boys who are looking for an authentic, "by the book" Scouting experience. We are tired of LDS units in Northern Utah that encourage mediocrity and that do not adhere to the requirements and spirit of the Scouting program.
The idea is to have a smooth-running Cub Scout Pack that feeds into our Scout Troop. We want the Scout Troop to be organized into patrols of 8 boys that functions under the Patrol Method. If there is enough interest, we will incorporate the Varsity and Venture programs, however ALL boys in the Scouting program are Scouts, first and foremost.
The program will emphasize youth leadership (the Troop will be youth-run), outdoor camping and exploration, and personal development. The Cub program will start to build on these principles but will also stress the importance of completing requirements with family and friends.
At least one parent for each boy must be willing to be involved with the Pack/Troop Committee or be involved as an adult leader in the Pack or Troop. No exceptions. This is critical not only to the success of the Pack and Troop, but to the success of the boys. We are not looking for excessive time committments, but we do want to make sure we have parent support.
